Unit 1 - Families, Feelings, and Festivities - movie clip
HW: Begin searching for a Tang Dynasty poem (any poet). It must be at least 4 lines long (5 char/words per line). Longer poems will receive more points. (Ms. Herford will explain in class). Provide char, pinyin and meaning handwritten in your gongkebijiben along with an explanation of why you chose it. Cite your source/website! Memorize it, w tones! Due and perform for class Fri Nov 9th. 很好玩! This is a great site to use. It has the Char and English. Chose a poem that "speaks" to you. You would cut and paste into an online dictionary to find out the pinyin.

Write the character, pinyin and meaning of the quote. Also, look up and identify the individual meaning of each character in the saying. Be prepared to teach and explain it to the class. You can copy and paste the individual characters into the online dictionary above to find out individual meaning (or use a dictionary). This must be completed before you come into class Mon/Tues.
3. Use the above online dictionary to find the radical for the characters on your stroke order sheet and give the meaning of the radical. Find a place on the sheet beside the character to note it or circle it and write the meaning of the radical.

Prep Step #2 with your group, add a paragraph to your 男/女朋友picture/drawing that follows the format of the Q and A you did from 1.4 worksheet. If you add info above and beyond that, you will receive a high grade of course. Make sure it is written on the same sheet as your drawing (not on the back). If you don't have room attach another sheet of paper below it and add your paragraph so that I can see both the picture and the paragraph. Make it 很漂亮!

Translation of Li Bai poem
Unit 1 - Families, Feelings, and Festivities - movie clip
HW: Begin searching for a Tang Dynasty poem (any poet). It must be at least 4 lines long (5 char/words per line). Longer poems will receive more points. (Ms. Herford will explain in class). Provide char, pinyin and meaning handwritten in your gongkebijiben along with an explanation of why you chose it. Cite your source/website! Memorize it, w tones! Due and perform for class Fri Nov 9th. 很好玩! This is a great site to use. It has the Char and English. Chose a poem that "speaks" to you. You would cut and paste into an online dictionary to find out the pinyin.

Write the character, pinyin and meaning of the quote. Also, look up and identify the individual meaning of each character in the saying. Be prepared to teach and explain it to the class. You can copy and paste the individual characters into the online dictionary above to find out individual meaning (or use a dictionary). This must be completed before you come into class Mon/Tues.
3. Use the above online dictionary to find the radical for the characters on your stroke order sheet and give the meaning of the radical. Find a place on the sheet beside the character to note it or circle it and write the meaning of the radical.
